Everything we do to commemorate Baltimore County’s 350th anniversary is designed to enhance our citizens’ ability to experience, understand and appreciate their heritage and draw lessons from it.
We will celebrate grand achievements and smaller ones that give light to the values and traditions we cherish. We will examine change in our society, change that brings both opportunity and challenge. We will visit the hearts and minds of our people and celebrate their diversity.
We will go to places that are unique, colorful and alluring, and steeped in historical significance. We will recognize that longevity matters, that a steady hand through thick and thin is at the heart of American enterprise and endurance. These are the overarching themes that will guide our journey and open windows to a proud place, and a proud people. We heard these themes from Dr. Barry Lanman, who is authoring a fine book that will ensure that our story is preserved for the ages. Thank you Barry for your hard work and wisdom in helping us celebrate this momentous occasion. |
